15 Days (South Africa & Swaziland)
Safari in South Africa to the Krüger National park and the Hluhluwe and Imfolozi National Parks in KwaZulu-Natal.
Day 1 : Arrival at the Johannesburg Oliver R. Thambo International Airport in beautiful South Africa. Pick up your rented vehicle or your experienced ONDESE guide/driver welcomes you here. Drive to town and visit the Gold Reef City theme park, the historical heart of this bustling city. Overnight in a room at the Ten Bompas Hotel in the suburb Sandton.
Day 2 : After breakfast drive via Witbank and Middelburg (here you can visit Botshabelo) in Mpumalanga Province and on via Lydenburg to the charming historical mining village of Pilgrim's Rest. Overnight here in a room at the Royal Hotel.
Day 3 : Drive through the Drakensberg and visit the Blyde River Canyon Park and continue via Hoedspruit to the stylish Honeyguide Mantobeni Camp, situated in the private Timbavati Game Park in the Limpopo Province. Besides game drives, you can also enjoy aroma-therapy massages in this lodge. Overnight here in a luxury tent with ensuite facilities.
Day 4 : Spend the day with the activities on offer and relax here. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 5 : Today, drive via the Orpen Gate into the famous Kruger National Park. Game drives either with your guide or in your own rented vehicle on the marked roads towards the southern part of the park. Overnight in a room at the Sate-owned Skukuza Rest Camp.
Day 6 : Spend the day with own or guided game drives in the Kruger National Park. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 7 : Exit the Kruger National Park through the southern Malelane Gate and drive via Jeppe's Reef to the small Kingdom of Swaziland. Continue through mountainous landscapes via Piggs Peak and the glass works at Ngwenya and the capital Mbabane to the Foresters Arms Hotel close to Mhlambanyatsi. Overnight here in a room.
Day 8 : Drive via Manzini and Big Bend through southern Swaziland and exit that country at Lavumisa to the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal and continue via Mkuze and Hluhluwe to the oldest South African national park, the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park. Game drives either in your own rented vehicle or with your guide on the marked roads in this beautiful park. Overnight in a chalet at Hilltop Rest Camp inside the park, managed by the KwaZulu-Natal Conservation Services.
Day 9 : Own or guided game drives through the hills of the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi National Park. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 10 : As on the previous day.
Day 11 : Today, exit the national parks and drive via Mtubatuba to the unique wetlands of iSimangaliso (St. Lucia), a world heritage site. Overnight in a chalet at the Makakatana Bay Lodge, situated on the shores of Lake St. Lucia, but also has access to the beautiful beaches of the Indian Ocean.
Day 12 : Spend the day with your hosts and the offered excursions along the lake and to the beach. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 13 : In the course of the morning, drive via Richard's Bay and Empangeni to Shakaland close to Eshowe. Here you can experience the colourful traditional life of the proud Zulu people. Overnight here in a room.
Day 14 : Drive to the harbour city of Durban on the Indian Ocean. You can visit the Indian market, the aquarium and the harbour. Overnight in a room at the Protea Hotel The Edward directly on the beach.
Day 15 : Your guide bids you farewell at the Durban International Airport or you return your rented vehicle here. Flight home.
