21 Days (Zimbabwe)
Safari visiting the highlights of Zimbabwe.
Day 1 : Arrival at the Harare International Airport in Zimbabwe. Your experienced ONDESE guide will welcome you at the Airport and will drive you to town. Alternatively, you pick up your rented vehicle here. Overnight in a room at the Imba Matombo Lodge outside the Zimbabwean capital.
Day 2 : After breakfast, drive via Chinhoyi and Karoi to the Kariba Airport, where you leave your vehicle. Air Transfer to the airfield of Chikwenya or Ruckomechi Camp, situated on the banks of the lower Zambesi in the Mana Pools National Park. Overnight here in a luxury tent with en-suite facilities.
Day 3 : Spend the day with your hosts on boat cruises, walks and game drives. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 4 : Transfer by air back to the town of Kariba on the shore of the Lake Kariba. Pick up your vehicle and drive to the Caribbea Bay Hotel in town. From here you can take boat rides, viewing game on the shores of the Lake. Overnight in a room at above hotel.
Day 5 : After breakfast, drive via Karoi to the Matusadona National Park on the southern shore of Lake Kariba, and up to the Musango Safari Camp on the Ume River inside the Park. Overnight in a luxury tent with en-suite facilities.
Day 6 : Your hosts will take you on walks, game drives, boat cruises and canoeing trips. Matusadona is a world of elephants, spectacular sunsets and the ubiquitous cry of the fish eagle. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 7 : An early start via the town of Hwange to Victoria Falls will take you to the worldfamous Falls, the "smoke that thunders". Continue on to the Imbabala Lodge, located on the banks of the mighty Zambesi River in the Matetsi area. Overnight here in a room.
Day 8 : Spend the day with your hosts on a game drive or walk. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 9 : Drive via Hwange to the comfortable The Hide Safari Camp on the border of the Hwange National Park. Guides will accompany you on game-viewing activities in the Park. Overnight in a tree chalet at the lodge.
Day 10 : Spend the day on game drives in the Hwange National Park, where great congregations of game gather around numerous water-holes. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 11 : Today you drive south via Bulawayo to the Matopo Hills National Park. Overnight in a room at the Big Cave Camp - "the Lodge on the Rocks". which is situated on the border of the Park and offers a magnificent view of the granite hills.
Day 12 : Your hosts will take you on excursions, showing you the grave of Cecil John Rhodes, beautiful landscapes and wildlife. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 13 : Drive via Bulawayo, Mbalabala, Zvishavane and Masvingo to the Lodge of the Ancient City, close to the historical monument of Great Zimbabwe. Overnight here in a room.
Day 14 : Visit the Great Zimbabwe Ruins at your leisure. If you are on a guided safari, your guide will be able to explain the history of the monument, and the mysteries surrounding them, to you. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 15 : Today drive via Masvingo and the villages Ngundu and Chiredzi to the Mahenye Safari Lodge, located on the banks of the Save River on the border of the Gonarezhou National Park. Overnight in a chalet at the lodge.
Day 16 : Spend the day with your hosts, who will take you on game drives through the impressive landscapes of the unique Gonarezhou National Park. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 17 : In the course of the day, drive via Chipinge to Chimanimani in the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe. In this idyllic landscape one can go on beautiful walks and hikes in the Chimanimani National Park. Overnight in a room at the Chimanimani Hotel.
Day 18 : In the course of the day, drive via Mutare on to the Leopard Rock Hotel, nestled in the mountains of the Eastern Highlands. Overnight in a room at the hotel and enjoy the exquisite view.
Day 19 : Take in a game of golf on the hotel course, or go on an excursion to the Bvumba Botanical Garden. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 20 : In the course of the day, drive via Rusape and Marondera back to Harare. Overnight in a room at the Monomotapa Hotel.
Day 21 : Transfer to the Harare International Airport or return your rented vehicle here before your flight out.
