22 Days (South Africa and Namibia)
Safari from Cape Town through the Kalahari to the Namib Desert and Etosha.
Day 1 : Arrival at the Cape Town International Airport in beautiful South Africa. Your guide welcomes you here, or pick up your rented vehicle. Drive to town and overnight in a room at the Ambassador Hotel in Bantry Bay in the South African mother city.
Day 2 : Today, visit Cape Point at the Cape of Good Hope and the Table Mountain. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 3 : Just after breakfast, drive inland and north via Clanwilliam to the Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve Retreat Lodge at the Cedar Mountains. Overnight here in a chalet.
Day 4 : Enjoy the day with your hosts and the offered game drives and excursions in the private nature park to rock paintings. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 5 : After breakfast, drive through a part of the Karoo into the northern part of the Cape Province to the Augrabies Falls on the Orange River (Gariep). Overnight in a chalet at the State-owned Augrabies Falls Rest Camp.
Day 6 : Today, you drive via Upington to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park (Kalahari Gemsbuck Park) and overnight inside the park in a bungalow at State-owned Twee Rivieren Rest Camp.
Day 7 : Game Drives among the red dunes of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 8 : In the course of the morning, drive via the border posts Rietfontein/Klein Menasse to Namibia towards Keetmanshoop. Here you can visit the Quiver Tree Forest. Overnight in a room at the Schützenhaus Guest House.
Day 9 : Drive via the Naute dam to the breathtaking Fish River Canyon. Overnight in the vicinity of the canyon in a chalet at the Cañon Lodge.
Day 10 : Today, drive via Seeheim and Aus through the picturesque southern part of the Namib Desert to the little harbour town of Lüderitzbucht. Overnight in a room at The Nest Hotel.
Day 11 : You can visit the ghost town of Kolmannskuppe and make an excursion to the surrounding bays and to Dias Point. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 12 : Your drive leads you again through the Namib Desert inland through beautiful landscapes to Guest Farm Sinclair north of Helmeringhausen. Overnight at this typical Karakul farm in a room.


Day 13 : After breakfast, visit the legendary Schloss (Castle) Duwisib and drive on the edge of the desert through breathtaking landscapes to Sesriem. Overnight here in a luxury tent with en-suite facilities at the Sossusvlei Lodge close to Sesriem.
Day 14 : Rising early to see the subtle colours of the morning sun over the world's highest dunes at Sossusvlei is definitely worthwhile. Later, visit the interesting Sesriem Canyon. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 15 : Acquire a permit at the office of the Ministry of Environment & Tourism at Sesriem and drive via the Gaub and Kuiseb passes through the Namib-Naukluft Park and visit the Welwitschia plains and Moon Landscape. Overnight in a room at the Hansa Hotel in the charming coastal town of Swakopmund.
Day 16 : In the morning, you may spend your day in town and in the afternoon visit the lagoon at Walfish Bay. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 17 : After breakfast, drive along the coast via Henties Bay to visit the seal colony at Cape Cross and then drive inland through the Namib Desert via Uis to see the age-old rock engravings at Twyfelfontein, a world heritage site. Overnight here in a luxury tent with en-suite facilities at the Mowani Mountain Camp.
Day 18 : Visit the Petrified Forest and drive via Khorixas to visit the impressive Rock Finger and drive on via Outjo to the famous Etosha National Park. Game drives in your own vehicle on the marked roads or with your guide in the central-western part of the park. Overnight in a room at the State-owned Okaukuejo Resort. Floodlit water-hole is available.
Day 19 : Game drives in the central and eastern part of the Etosha National Park. You overnight in a comfortable chalet at the Etosha Aoba Lodge, situated outside the park.
Day 20 : Visit the historical Fort Namutoni in the park. Game drives in the eastern part of Etosha. Large numbers of antelope, giraffe and zebra - and the predators that stalk them, and huge, dusty elephants against the backdrop of the vast Etosha Pan are characteristic of the days in the park. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 21 : After breakfast, visit Lake Oshikoto and drive via Tsumeb, Otjiwarongo and Okahandja to the Namibian capital Windhoek. Overnight in an elegant room at Hotel Heinitzburg.
Day 22 : Drive to the Hosea Kutako International Airport (Windhoek). Return your rented vehicle here and fly home, or your guide will bring you here.
