12 Days (Botswana)
Fly-In Safari in Botswana to the central Kalahari, the Moremi Wildlife Reserve, the Linyanti Swamps, the Chobe National Park and to the Okavango Delta.
Day 1 : Arrival at the Maun Airport in unspoilt Botswana. After customs, you will be met by a representative of a local charter flight company for your air-transfer to the Deception Valley Lodge, situated on the border of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve in the heart of the Botswanan Kalahari. Overnight in a stylish chalet with en-suite shower and toilet.
Day 2 : Take in the vastness of the Kalahari. Enjoy the day with offered game drives in open vehicles and walks with expert guides. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 3 : Spend another day with your hosts and expert guides, who will tell you more about flora and fauna of this stunning area and who will surprise you with small treasures. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 4 : Transfer to the airfield and charter flight via Maun to the airfield of Xakanaxa in the Moremi Wildlife Reserve, on the edge of the Okavango Delta. Transfer to Camp Moremi. The contrast between the vastness of the central Kalahari and the plethora of the delta could not be greater. Overnight in a luxury tent with en-suite facilities.
Day 5 : Take in a game drive or boat cruise in this lush and unspoilt park, which abounds with wildlife. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 6 : In the course of the morning, transfer by boat from the edge of the delta to the heart of the Okavango delta. You will rest on an island with some refreshments, before you reach Xugana Island Lodge, situated isolated in the heart of the Okavango Swamps on the edge of an open lake. Overnight here in a reeded chalet.
Day 7 : Your hosts will take you on game walks, boat cruises and a mokoro ride. The bird-life is exceptional here. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 8 : Transfer to the airfield and charter flight to the Savuti airfield. Transfer from here to the Savute Safari Lodge, situated along a water-hole in the Savute Channel in the southern part of the Chobe National Park. The activities here consist of guided game drives in open vehicles in this remote African bush. Overnight in a spacious chalet.
Day 9 : Spend the day with the game drives on offer. The Savuti is known for its lions and elephants. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 10 : Transfer to the airfield and charter flight to the Kasane Airport in northern Botswana. From here you will be transferred through the northern part of the Chobe National Park to the Chobe Game Lodge, situated on the Chobe River. Boat transfer to the Namibian bank of this river and to the Chobe Savannah Lodge. Overnight at one of the above lodges in a chalet. The game activities consist of boat cruises on the Chobe River, from where you can view the game in the Chobe National Park.
Day 11 : Enjoy excellent game viewing from a boat on the Chobe River. The Chobe is famous for its great herds of elephants. Accommodation as on the previous day.
Day 12 : Transfer in the course of the day back to the Kasane Airport and fly back to Maun. From here you can catch your scheduled flight home.
